I’m typing this post from my phone… I do have a perfectly nice computer with a desk and a working keyboard. It’s just that I can’t do this:

…and type at the same time… not yet. If I don’t let somebody else hold this boy sometime soon this might turn into a slight problem…
I am going to give this blog a couple more days of maternity leave, but will be back to answer all your questions and give you the details of his birth, his name and all that hair…

…and of course the story on how Leila met her brother and smacked him over the head…
…that sweet little girl of mine!

So cute! Looking forward to hearing all the stories

Two extra arms WOULD come in handy… As I’m typing this on my phone while holding my 3 week old…
I have friends that basically never let go of their sons when they were young, probably until the age of 1 or something like that. Literally, they hold him when he sleeps through the night. They have 2 grandparents that practically moved in with them. (and still do as they’re on their #2 now) The older one is now 2 and he’s quite a normal boy, plays by himself, talks, etc. So, you can go ahead and hold your son if you want to. No worries! I don’t know how Leila is liking that though… or maybe she doesn’t care as she’s always been pretty independent? Precious pix!!
oooososweet!
i want another one.
Aw <3 Great pictures!
When my DS2 was born, my 15.5 month old DS1 introduced himself to his new brother by poking him in the eye. Almost 7 years now, they've been at each other! But, they are still the best of friends.

It’s a tough adjustment for the little sprouts to make, but they do get used to their sibs. I have to say, my second and third kids never got the kind of smothering love that I lavished on my first. I got a carrier very soon after James was born, so he got Mummy snuggles that way, but my arms and attention belonged to big sister Tess. When Molly was born, she went into the carrier and Jamie and Tess continued to be the focus of my conversation and “attention.” The carrier was the closest thing I found to gaining those extra arms you were talking about. (And yes – why not the extra arms, eh? It seems after a few million years, we’d have at least tiny buds poking out somewhere from our shoulders…)
I refused to feel guilty for focusing on the older one(s). It’s what was most needed in our family at that time.
It’s an adjustment for everyone, adding a new little person to a household. It’s definitely hard on mom, who is dealing with raging hormones while desperately trying to figure out what everyone needs and how to give it to them without collapsing in the process.
Blessings on you and your beautiful brood!
Thanks so much… you are right. You are absolutely right. This new self-induced guilt has been eating at me for no reason at all. Getting there… one day at a time. xoxo
Aww, that brings back such sweet memories! I understand why you don’t want to put that little guy down! Can’t wait to hear about him!
(soft pinches on his cheeks from me)
