So…

We are trying to survive the Easter, my birthday and Mother’s Day combo at our house. It’s going really well. For me. Obviously.

Well, maybe Easter not so much… but we did have our annual WHO-THE-FUCK-HAS-TIME-FOR-THIS-SHIT?! family meeting. As a result I am going to re-new my weekly meetings with the therapist and Dennis will get more involved with family holiday planing and work on being a more present father. See? I got this whole working-mother thing under control.

In summary, I would like to forget the Easter of 2011. So there is that.

Last Saturday I turned 32, which is not even a real number… It’s like I’m still 31 only a year older. Make sense? I thought so.

If I could I would just fast-forward this week to Sunday, because for my Mother’s Day I’m getting the WHOLE DAY TO MYSELF. As in

ALL DAY

NO KIDS

NO WORK

UNICORNS EATING CAKE POPS

AND MINIATURE GIRAFFES ON MY LAP

kind of day.

Which clearly is the best Mother’s Day gift in the history of all gifts.

Ahh. Sigh. Please soak up your Mother’s Day 110%. Enjoy it. All of it. Even a little more for me please, because mine? As the wife of a restaurant manager? For a restaurant that is VERY popular? Will be spending it doing the exact opposite of you.

    You deserve it tho.

Ahh, my Mother’s Day will be spent celebrating Barney’s birthday at a local Civic Center with my (almost) 3 year old son, mom and dad. (Hubby has to work). I want your day.

I LOVE the sound of your mother’s day. You sure do deserve a break, you working Mama, you!

I only work part-time, which I suppose is why I’m only getting half-a break on mother’s day. Working most of the day, then fancy dinner out with the in-laws and the whole family. The evening out will be fun, but no solo time or spa massages for me!

  4. Best Mother’s Day Present ever!
